TEAM CHALLENGE, all day today. I felt terrible for the quantity, as well as the quality of the ideas I submitted. I turned in a few more this morning, but I don’t think they will be considered. By the end of the day, I felt much better. Team challenge is ingenious. Red team, for the win! Arthur, Aynur, Allen, Edna, and Ry-lye were amazing. I learned so much today, and I hope the team’s satisfied with the ideas we composed. From the master list, each team was to select two rough ideas for a brake, an accelerator, a steering strategy, and any additional proposal… just like referring to a car. Hence, the song for today’s post: Fast Car, The Dream.

I really liked the way we approached team challenge. We kicked off the day by going over what we already knew about the pathway downstream a GPCR [bound to a ligand]. It was a wonderful collaboration from the start! The outcome was a sweet illustration, and some pretty sweet constructs. It was magic. I’m excited for the presentation tomorrow. I hope all goes well. Perhaps I can redeem myself for the poor brainstorm I turned in. I’m excited to hear from the Blue and Black teams, as well. Psyched about whatever crazy ideas will be pitched. Allen, Edna, and Ryan: you guys are the reeeaaal deeeaaal. Arthur and Aynur, you guys got some excellent brainpower. All in all, today was extremely productive. And amusing, as well. Edna had a horrible case of food coma in the afternoon. I know exactly how that feels. Always happens to me! Fortunately, not today. Ryan was the man of the hour… more like a few hours, actually. He spent a lot of time at the board, with a marker in his hand [thanks to Aynur]. And as for Allen, he really wants some weapons of mass destruction [as does Arthur]. Hmmm, sounds familiar… iGem 2008? Team death? Kekeke.
